Our neighborhood

Thomas and I are staying in a little part of central Paris known as the Latin Quarter. It has a long a history as being the old center of Roman Paris and was the university district in the Middle Ages. It's one of the most interesting areas to stay in with tons of cafés, book stores, jazz music stores and beautiful boulevards. It's really close to places like Notre Dame and to a few metro stations. It's been an amazing home base for us and a really interesting peek into Parisienne life.

For instance, there is a grocery store up the block that only sells frozen foods. It's just aisle after aisle of gourmet looking frozen food. I know this sounds crazy, but we're having frozen dinners tonight! Fish with what I'm assuming is a potato carrot mash thing and a baguette. It looks delicious!

We also found one of they go best boulangerie in Paris two blocks away from our doorstep! Eric Kayser boulangerie, which was identified as the best by Travel & Leisure. Not too shabby!

Oh yeah, and then there is the random jazz concerts that pop up on Thursday nights in front of a shop down one of our streets and people dancing in the middle of the street.

Just lovely.

Off to stuff our faces yet again.

Cheers,

Cathy
